Happy New Year!
I was mostly sick during the holidays and I was a bit upset to start a new year like that...but when I got better, I found I've lost a few pounds!! I've got to much weight these days, so I decided that this is a great start of the year after all.
So, some of my New Year's resolutions are to keep my weight as it is now, and to keep writing this little blog, hopefully a bit more frequently.
knitting
I was sick, but finished my husband's scarf.
He chose this stitch pattern and yarn himself. I was not sure about this pattern for a scarf, but he seems to like it... so it's O.K. The yarn is Jo Sharp SilkRoad DK. I love this yarn!
These are gloves for my sister and my husband. My husband's are fingerless gloves and I'm knitting a mitten-shaped cover for them now.
Food
I think I'll post my meal pictures from time to time this year, just for fun. I'm not a good cook though, so if you think Japanese home cooking doesn't look good, it's not the Japanese food's fault. :-)
A bowl of rice, cooked daikon radish and tofu curd (I think this is what they call it in English... a deep fried tofu product), pan fried breaded halibut, boiled veggies. I love tofu... It's really fortunate that you can buy good tofu here. There is a small Japanese grocery store in Portland (their name is "Anzen") and they carry Ota Tofu products. Ota's tofu is great! Very Japanese.
