A Crochet Triangle Shawl

0615.jpg

This is a finished crochet triangle shawl made with leftover yarns. I planned to wear it in a movie theater so that I wouldn't have to worry about the color, but it looks O.K. to wear under the sunlight... I think.

This is a pair of baby shoes for my friend's new born baby girl. Last week I was knitting a cardigan for my husband's friend's baby, and then I found out about another baby! I was sidetracked and knitted these baby booties. They are quick and fun to knit. The pattern is from "The Baby Knits Book" by Debbie Bliss and the yarn is Debbie Bliss Wool Cotton.

A baby sweater and a crochet project

K's friend has a baby girl. I started to knit a cardigan for her. As the cardigan was very small, it took me only a few days to knit all the parts. It was my first time to knit baby stuff and I began to worry the cardigan might be too small, even for a baby. It was really small and I have no idea how small the baby is...

Since my previous knitting project ended up too short for me, I learned that "when I feel something is wrong with a knitting project, follow my instinct." So I decided to rip the cardigan and knit a size for a 1-year-old, rather than for a 6-9 month-old.

I also have a crochet project now to use several left over yarns. The first project is an easy triangle shawl. It looks nicer than I expected. I wish I had one more ball of the same yarn.

Too Short

0605.jpg

My Lace Peasant Top turned out to be too short, as I thought before. Actually it's not really too short. The top half of the ribbed part is short so it doesn't cover the chest area.

The length of the finished sweater is almost the same as the pattern. So I knitted it as it is supposed to be, only it's too short for me. K(my husband) wonders why I chose that size in the first place. Well, I really didn't check the length of the sweater and only checked the finished chest size.

The problem is I'm not sure what is the real reason that this sweater is too short. Did I read the pattern wrong? Or I might have a very long torso compared to western people (I'm not joking, because I'm having a hard time finding pants which have short legs in the U.S.)... or maybe the size I chose was a kid's size.
