Cast-On

I've been listening to Cast-On podcast since last January, and I'm a big fan of it. The Cast-On diva Brenda Dayne's knitting stories and music selections are great, and the fact that she's from Portland, and her living in Wales (where a poet I studied when I was in college was from) makes me feel much more familiar with the podcast. When she talks about knitting in a cafe in Portland or places she visited, I imagine the places with bits of my knowledge of the area... It's kind of the same as reading a novel with a great setting; the words stimulate my imagination, and I like that.

By the way, Cast-On has "iKnit" and "iSpin" buttons for blogs, to show what you do when you listen to the podcast. I want one, but I neither knit nor spin when I listen to it... I do chores or exercises. It's really great, because I can turn chore time into knitting time if I listen to Cast-On. You can do ironing "like the wind". :-) (But I guess I should just choose iKnit or iSpin, because I don't want an iChore button even if they have it.)
