Slippers

I like to make slippers and I've knitted a few. I think I like these the best so far. This slipper pattern is easy enough to remember by heart, you can use left over yarn and it's fun! On this one I'm too lazy to change the yarn, but the idea of changing the yarn any time when you want to is just nice. I used Lion Brand Fishermen's wool and cascade 220.

The slipper pattern is "Random Ugly Technicolor Dream Slippers" (or Nancy's grandmother's crazy slippers), from the April 27th post at Super Eggplant Posted by noriko at September 25, 2004 08:27 PM

I'm glad you are back; I missed you. The slippers are very cute! As usual, I want to knit everything that you are knitting :-)

Do you know if Minako (Little Stitches) is all right? I miss her too.

Hi Noriko, I'm a knitter in Hong Kong and have been reading your wonderful blog for a while. I'm just learning how to do fairisle and yesterday, I bought a Japanese fairisle book by Shaela that you mentioned in your January post. Do you know what yarn is used in that book? Will I be able to use J&S shetland yarn? Thanks for your help.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for stopping by. I think Minako is taking a vacation from the WWW... She's been managing her web site for more than 6 years so she deserves it, but I miss her too!!

Hi Siow Chin,
Since I've never seen Shaela's yarn, what I'm going to write might not be true...but here it is:

I've read Shaela's owner wrote on their bulletin board that their yarn is imported from Shetland, but she didn't disclose the manufacturer. I've
also read a Japanese knitter once wrote that Shaela's yarn might be Jamieson's. Although she was pretty sure about it, it's still only a guess.

I think you can use J&S yarn, but the color numbers might be different. Shaela makes their own color sample chart, so I guess Jamieson's sample chart will not help either.

I hope this helps.

Hajimemashite, Noriko-san!
Your slippers are sooo cute. :) I like the color you picked too very much. I used to knit very actively some years ago, but for last 3 yrs, my main interest has been rocheting. :P You make me wanna go back to two needles and make those slippers!

Hello Chie-san, thank you for your kind comment.
Actually it is not "hajimemashie" for me; I've been to your blog several times before! I like to crochet too. I didn't leave a comment on your blog because it is still a little intimidating to do so in English... mata asobini ikimasune!!

Siow Chin, no problem!
